Fee Waiver Application
Cannot Afford the Visa Fee? We Can Help — Confidentially
Immigration fees in the UK can run to thousands of pounds. When you add the Immigration Health Surcharge on top, the total cost can feel completely impossible — not just difficult, but genuinely out of reach for a family that is already stretched.
If that is where you are right now, this page is for you.
A fee waiver is available for people applying to remain in the UK on human rights grounds who are facing real financial hardship. If you are destitute, or at serious risk of becoming destitute if you were to pay the fee — you may not have to pay it at all.
We know that talking about money is uncomfortable. Many people in our communities find it deeply difficult to discuss financial hardship, even with someone they trust. We want you to know that every single conversation at Raza Immigration Services is completely confidential. We do not judge. We do not make assumptions. We simply listen, assess your circumstances carefully, and tell you honestly what is possible.
What we will need is evidence — bank statements, income details, outgoings, and in some cases letters from charities, food banks, or support workers. We will guide you through exactly what to gather and how to present it in a way that gives your application the strongest possible foundation.
You should not have to choose between keeping the lights on and securing your family’s right to stay in this country. Speak to us — in Urdu, Hindi, Pashto, or English — and let us see what we can do.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR A FEE WAIVER?
Fee waivers are available if you are applying to remain in the UK on human rights grounds (Article 8 ECHR) AND you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- You and your family are destitute — unable to meet your basic daily living needs
- You are at risk of becoming destitute if you were to pay the visa application fee
- You are experiencing exceptional financial hardship due to circumstances beyond your control
- You are a victim of domestic violence or trafficking with no available financial resources
WHAT EVIDENCE IS REQUIRED?
Financial Evidence
- Bank statements showing your full financial picture for the last 3 to 6 months
- Evidence of ALL income: wages, Universal Credit, Child Benefit, or any other support
- Evidence of ALL regular outgoings: rent, utilities, food, travel, childcare
- Evidence of any exceptional or extraordinary circumstances affecting your finances
- If you have savings: a full explanation of why they cannot be used for the fee
Supporting Evidence
- Letters from charities or food banks confirming support received
- Letters from social workers or local authority support workers
- Medical evidence if your circumstances are connected to illness or disability
- Evidence of domestic violence or trafficking if this applies to your situation
- School letters or evidence of children’s needs if relevant
IMPORTANT — WHAT FEE WAIVERS COVER
- The visa application fee itself (which can be over £1,000)
- The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) — which can be several thousand pounds for families
- Fee waivers do NOT cover all immigration applications — they are only available for human rights based applications (Article 8 ECHR)
- If your application is refused, the fee will NOT be refunded — so preparation is critical
